Connect with God through Worship

Worship is a response to who God is

…and all He has done. You will find the more you know Him, the more you will want to worship Him because that’s how amazing He is! The most common form of worship is music. Music is a powerful way to connect emotionally with God. It helps to set our thoughts and on Him. Our response not limited to just music. Worship is not limited to a church service, but can be expressed every day in every area of our life. Worship is ascribing the praise that is due to Him for His is worthy of all praise. Worship is for Him. It’s not about our personal preferences. It can be expressed through so many other ways like:

  • The way He loves others like our spouse & children, friends, people that may not reciprocate love

  • Writing poetry

  • Listening

  • Giving Him thanks verbally

  • Forgiving someone

  • Doing what God is asking of you

  • Forsaking things of this world that have become more important than Him

  • Using our resources to help others

  • Washing the dishes

  • Painting

  • Dancing and so much more

Can you think of other ways you can worship God? It may actually start with getting your heart right with Him first. It is not just about the activity of music itself - it is deeper than that. It is having a heart connection with Him, being vulnerable, and transparent.

What worship is not. It is not the prelude to the sermon like a show. It is not singing the words to a song without meaning it in your heart. Worship is not about how well you sing. The Bible says to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Those of us who can’t carry a tune are thankful for that! LOL!

It is giving Him our all, because He has given us all.
